Circus Wagons – holidays on wheels

Cosy and comfortable stays by the Bialowieza Forest, self-check-in, wi-fi

The premises

Our romantic and luxurious circus wagons (one for 2 people – Karandasch and two for 4 people – Grock and Crane) are situated on the premises of Wildlife Villa (2.3 ha together with the meadows), where also the blue wooden house in regional style is located, as well as the garden, swimming pool and a playhouse for children.

The place is perfect both for holidays for two (Karandasch) and also for holidays with family or a group of friends (Grock and Crane). If you travel in a bigger company, you can rent all three wagons and the house.

NOTE: We do not provide catering. The wagons have well- equipped kitchens and next to them there is a bonfire area.

Karandasch:

Karandasch

The wagon Karandasch, which comes from the former East Germany and is called after a Russian clown, is 10 m long and 2.2 m wide.

It no longer roams the world but has kept some of the charm of vagabond life, which is worth surrendering to while listening to music flowing from the old record player.

The floor is made from ash wood, walls and ceiling are insulated and covered with wood and drywall. Windows have mosquito nets.

Karandasch is perfect for two and it includes:

  • a well equipped kitchen / dining room with a freestanding woodstove (cooker with an oven, fridge, pots, coffee machine, tableware, cutlery)
  • a bathroom / toilet
  • a bedroom with a double bed (140×200 cm)
  • a small, roofed terrace with a garden sofa

Grock

Grock wagon, named after a Swiss clown, is 11 m long and 2.3 m wide and it used to serve as a dwelling of a circus master in Alsace.

Grock has ash floor, well insulated and covered with wood walls and ceiling. Windows have mosquito nets.

The wagon includes:

  • two rooms – one with a double bed (140×200 cm), the other one – the living room – with a sofa bed (140×200 cm), a freestanding woodstove
  • a well equipped kitchen (cooker with an oven, fridge, pots, coffee machine, tableware, cutlery)
  • a big bathroom / toilet
  • a terrace in front of the wagon and a bigger one with a table on its side

Crane:

Crane

Crane is the third of the wagons in the Bialowieza Forest – its name comes from the fact that it is located closest to the forest where crane clangour is often heard.

It was bought in Germany from an owner of a market stall who used to live with his family in a circus wagon. Because he had just finished renovating another wagon for his growing up daughter and he needed money to reboost his budget, he sold us the Crane.

Crane is the biggest of our wagons (c. 22 m2) and perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. Its windows have window nets.

In front of the wagon there is a big terrace with a table and benches.

It includes:

  • one bedroom with a double bed (140×200)
  • one bedroom with a bunk bed (2x 90×200)
  • a bathroom / toilet
  • a spacious kitchen / dining room with a fireplace (cooker with an oven, fridge, pots, espresso maker, tableware, cutlery)

Our area

  • The house is located at the beginning of a tiny forest village of Pasieki. To reach the place you need to go down the road domed with old willow trees. The village is inhabited by just a few, usually older people who live their lives to the rhythm of nature. There is a lot of charm in this slow pace and the visitors get into the spirit of it, taking a break from city stress. There is no shop in the village but there is a village pond and, with some luck, you can see bisons roaming the main street.

  • We own a few hectares of meadows right by the Forest and we mow them to protect the cultural landscape. We try to stop the invasion of Canada goldenrod in our surroundings and to preserve the feeding grounds of the stork and the lesser spotted eagle. In the cooperation with a group of biologists, we dug “frog ponds” in our meadows – we hope they will serve well and help tree frogs, fire-bellied toads and a few more species. You will also find there special tubes to listen to the forest sounds.

  • the best place to listen to deer roaring during their rut in Semptember

  • Birdwatching – it is enough to go out to the terrace to listen to cranes, corncrakes or to watch a lesser spotted eagle or a shrike. Spring nights in Pasieki (at the turn of April and May) are not easily forgotten. In fact, they should be spent outside, for example at the terrace, while listening to the concerts of birds and frogs. This is the time when nature does not sleep at all.

  • The vicinity of Siemianówka Lake is another big attraction. This is a place famous among ornithologists and anglers. Another spectacular location are the meadows near Babia Góra and Siemieniakowszczyzna, where flocks of geese gather in Spring and Autumn.

  • Walks in the open space of the forest meadows are a wonderful experience. Also nature reserves in the northern part of the Forest belong to the most beautiful ones. The smaller woods in the area are great for tracking bisons and moose or for picking up some mushrooms.

  • A local shop in Siemianówka is 1.5 km away. The distance to Narewka is 10 km. You will find there shops, a restaurant, a bar, a small river beach, an art gallery, an old Jewish cemetery and an orthodox church.

  • 9 km away there is a beach at Stary Dwór with a climbing wall, basketball and volleyball court as well as tennis courts. There is also a possibility of renting kayaks and pedal boats.
